Unfortunately once we have fulfilled our existing commitments for loose firewood we will have exhausted our stock of seasoned firewood for this winter period. Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience this may cause. We are however actively preparing for next season and look forward to supplying your requirements.
Broadleaf Firewoods have been supplying high quality seasoned firewood coppiced and processed from the Markshall Estate for over 25 years and we are pleased to have developed a closer relationship regarding firewood supplies.
Our hardwood logs are made up of Ash, Beech, Field Maple, Oak, Lime, Birch and Sycamore all harvested through coppicing from the Markshall Estate and are suitable for both open fires and woodburning stoves.
As a company we have registered with the Woodsure Ready To Burn Scheme (a copy of our registration certificate is attached) under which we are regularly audited and have to ensure we maintain certain quality criteria, i.e. maximum 20% moisture content of all wood sold. All our logs are fully naturally seasoned in purpose built covered barns with slatted sides and are cross stacked as billets which allows a natural circulating air flow drying the firewood.
This system allows us to meet the Ready To Burn maximum moisture content of 20% requirement through a natural process. There is therefore no necessity for any additional fuel to be used as is with a kiln dried method. Billets are then cut to standard lengths of 9 & 12 inches at time of delivery (although we can accommodate longer lengths if required, please enquire).
Logs are supplied in truck loads of approximately a loose 1m³.
Our charges are as follows:-
£95.00/load delivered free up to 10 miles
10-15 miles add £5.00 a load (please see map for reference)
PLEASE NOTE deliveries over 15 miles not available..
We also offer a stacking service for which a further £10.00 per load is added (this is subject to distance to the stacking area from your drive or access point).
Large bags of kindling are available at £5.00 per bag.
