Around the World: Japan with Keiko Koi

New to summer 2023, Around the World at Markshall. Join Percy and the team as we discover geographic zones, complete activities in your adventurers booklet, let our imaginations run wild with crafts and learn about the amazing world around us.

Embark on a quest to discover habitats, adaptations, evolution, sustainable populations and life cycles.

On your first visit, you will receive your Percy’s Adventures booklet with fun activities and spaces to collect stickers of your new animal friends. How many can you collect?

Here’s what you can expect in week two.

With Keiko Koi, Japanese relative to our resident common carp, as your booklet guide in week two…

• Complete a treasure hunt to find facts about animals and plants native to Japan.
• Meet the storyteller in the Wild Wood who will share a traditional tale that will link to a traditional textile method – weaving.
• Take part in a weaving activity.
• Make a kite based on Keiko Koi.
• Try making a Suzu which is a traditional 17^th century Japanese instrument.
• Make a fan decorated with images of flora such as the cherry blossom.

And pick up your Keiko Koi sticker.
